The Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was set up for strengthening surveillance at the Indo-Tibetan border. It was created in the year 1962 and in the year 2004, the entire India- China border was brought under the ITBP forces. Every year the Union Public Service Commission conducts ITBP recruitment for the post of Assistant Commandant. The exam conducted is known as the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) exam. The ITBP CAPF exam occurs for recruiting candidates for the post of Assistant Commandant across different security forces of India. These security forces include:

  1.     Border Security Force (BSF)
  2.     Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  3.     Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
  4.     Indo-Tibetan Police Force (ITBP)

The salary of the Assistant Commandant depends on the grade of the employee. Since the introduction of the 7th pay commission, the salary of the Assistant Commandant has increased.

  • Age limit

The candidates appearing for ITBP recruitment must be older than 20 years. The upper age limit for the candidates is 25 years. The relaxation in the upper age limit for reserved candidates is as follows:

ITBP CAPF Admit Card

An Admit Card is an important identification document that a candidate must carry to their exam center during the day of the exam. So, they are required to paste their passport-sized photo on their admit cards. In order to obtain the admit card for ITBP recruitment candidates must visit the official site ( and click on Admit cards. After that, they’ll be asked to input relevant data like date of birth, the application number, etc. After that, they’ll be redirected to their admit card. How to Apply for ITBP CAPF Recruitment 

Once the official notification is released, candidates must visit the official website ( during the time period when the online application process is open. It must be noted by the candidate that only one form can be filled by a candidate and thus they must ensure that they do not make any mistakes while filling it as it might result in the termination of their application. Also, the candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs 200 (two hundred rupees only) for completing their application process. It must, however, be noted that SC, ST, and female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
