ABOUT THE IBPS SO EXAM:

The IBPS SO exam is conducted by the Institute Of Banking Personnel Selection to hire specialist officers in different public sector banks. The IBPS SO exam is a great opportunity for those who desire to work in public sector banks. This exam is one of the most essential Entrance Exams that are conducted in the country every year. This exam is used as a mode of selection of candidates for various posts such as IT (Information Technology)Officer, Marketing Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, Rajbhasha(National language)Adhikari, and Law Officer. The IBPS collectively conducts exams for banks that release vacancies individually. There are three stages for the IBPS SO exam: prelims, mains, and then personal interview. A candidate needs to clear in all three stages in order to qualify for a job position. The important facts regarding the exam conduction are stated below:

IBPS SO ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2020: 

1.Nationality:

The candidate should have citizenship of India or be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. Tibetans who came to India before January 1 1962 are eligible too. The migrants of Pakistan, Srilanka, Burma, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Zaire, Vietnam, Ethiopia are eligible too. 

2. Age Limit:

The candidate should be aged between 20-30 years as of November 1, 2020.

3.Educational Qualification:

Since the exam is conducted for different positions the qualifications required vary according to posts. The candidates must have a valid Mark Sheet or a degree. The certificate should guarantee or prove that the candidate was a graduate on the day they registered for the examination. The percentage of marks scored must be mentioned at the time of the IBPS Bank-SO examination. 

NOTE: The candidate must have computer literacy as the mode of examination is online so the candidate must have a good knowledge of computer operation.

IBPS SO RECRUITMENT 2020:

IBPS SO VACANCY: 

The vacancies for various positions would be released and notified once the conducting body releases the Official Notification. As per the data available for the year 2019 and 2018, there has been a sharp increase in the number of vacancies. 

The vacancies were around 1600 for the year 2018. IBPS SO will be recruiting around 1163 plus personnel as Specialist Officers. The number of vacancies does vary according to different positions but is increasing every year. 

IBPS SO SALARY : 

In the table given below salaries for various positions of IBPS SO officers are mentioned:

The salaries mentioned above are monthly salaries. The IBPS SO salary includes dearness allowance and HRA for all grades too. 

IBPS SO SYLLABUS: 

The syllabus for IBPS SO differs from general IBPS exams. The syllabus for Prelims and Mains stages of exam largely depends on the type of subject and position applied for that is they are subject-specific and post specifically. 

The common subjects for the exam for different types of posts under the Specialist Officer are 

  1. English 
  2. Quantitative Aptitude 
  3. General Awareness 
  4. Reasoning

A large number of candidates appear for the exam so the competition faced by the candidates is quite high. Therefore the level of preparation required should be good enough to qualify. The standard of examination and difficulty level can be understood by students by solving the previous year’s test and mock tests. 

IBPS SO EXAMINATION PATTERN:

The IBPS SO examination has three stages 

  1. IBPS SO Prelims 
  2. IBPS SO Mains 
  3. Personal Interview 

 The detailed information about the above-mentioned stages is provided below: 

  1. THE PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
The preliminary examination holds a weightage of 125 marks. The common subjects for all departments consist of Reasoning and English Language. The departments are subdivided into technical and non-technical departments. The technical departments tend to test the Quantitative Aptitude of the candidates. The Non-technical departments test the General Awareness of the candidates. 
  1. THE MAIN EXAMINATION
In order to qualify for the main examination, the candidates need to score above the IBPS cut off in each section.

The Main Examination conducts an objective test paper for technical as well as Law candidates. The Main examination has a weightage of 60 marks. 

  1. The Personal Interview: 
After clearing the prelims and mains stage the candidates have to clear the personal interview round to get their desired position. To clear the personal interview round a candidate must score more at least 40 marks out of 100 if general and 35 marks out of 100 if the candidate happens to be SC/ST/OBC or PWD. 

The combined list of prelims and mains are utilized to form the Merit List. 

Provisional Allotment: The candidates who are eligible can check the notification regarding provisional allotment on the official website. The IBPS generally allots the banks to the candidates according to the preferences chosen by the candidates at the time of online registration. The IBPS plays a role till a candidate is selected, after that the responsibility to inform the qualified candidate regarding their joining dates and other procedures lies with the respective banks. 

IBPS SO EXAM CENTRE: 

The mode of examination for IBPS SO is online. It is conducted at various centers all over India and the candidates must mention their options while filling in the online application. The candidates however cannot make a request for changing their examination center. Any kind of misbehavior during the examination would not be tolerated and would result in the cancellation of the application.

IBPS SO REGISTRATION 2020:

In order to register for the IBPS SO exam, the candidates need to fill an application form which will be released on November 6, 2020. The last date for the submission of the form as of now is November 26, 2020. Candidates are supposed to register for the form in online mode only.
